County Properties Group was established in 1957 to form a significant property based company specialising in development of Commercial Property, Land and Estates and Investment. The company is run from its Edinburgh Office though has clients and projects worldwide.
Case History:
A chance conversation between NAC Managing Director, Mark Boyde and County Properties Chairman, Ronnie Urquhart revealed the company was spending a lot of time and money on travel both within the UK and abroad.
As with many companies with limited experience of Video Conferencing the view was that high-quality fully-immersive video conferencing, that actually worked, could only be achieved by investing considerable sums of money on an overly complicated technology.
Investigation:
Having tried Skype and traditional ISDN video conferencing, County Properties were very unimpressed with the quality and the obvious delay experience on video calls, and found the experience both frustrating and unreliable.
County Properties felt that there was no option but to continue with face-to-face meetings.
After overcoming initial reservations that sufficient quality could be gained at a price that was acceptable, a trail and demonstration was arranged at three UK sites.
Outcome:
After experiencing Vidyo at one of our Edinburgh demonstrations, the client decided on various VidyoRooms and VidyoDesktop users. We connected 3 offices in the UK and 2 further sites in Poland.
A significant saving has been experienced in both time and money, with an upscale in the number of meetings being conducted.
A ROI of only twenty weeks proves the commercial viability and business case behind this change in the company IT infrastructure with a significant cultural change in companywide ICT.
