Shepherd and Wedderburn

It was critical that any new video system would work perfectly with their legacy VC system and also integrate with their AMX control system.

Shepherd and Wedderburn is a leading UK law firm, with some 60 partners and around 350 staff, with offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow, London and Aberdeen. Its client base includes large organisations and SMEs based both in the UK and overseas.

Case History:
Shepherd and Wedderburn uses Tandberg MXP systems with a mixture of multi-function Crestron and AMX control systems across Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen and London. This was restricted to meeting room capability only.

Investigation:
About to purchase additional Tandberg end-points, Gary Alman, IT Director at Shepherd and Wedderburn attended a Vidyo demonstration at NAC’s Edinburgh office. Gary was very impressed when we were able to show 10 global participants in a high-definition multi-party conference over a basic ADSL connection.

The participants were connecting over a mixture of devices – large boardroom systems, laptops and iPads over a variety of network conditions including 3G.

Outcome:
Through Vidyo’s unique architecture; utilising SVC H.264 and its own patented Adaptive Layer Technology, Shepherd and Wedderburn can now bring everyone together at a very high level of quality and at a lower cost in an extremely flexible environment.

Vidyo will enable lawyers and staff, across the entire organisation, to communicate whenever and wherever they wish regardless of network conditions, via HD room systems, desktops and mobile devices.

“Through NAC and Vidyo we now have the capability to connect our wide ranging offices and people more easily and much quicker than we were previously able to do.”

Gary Alman, IT Director
